That's right people, I've dived head fist into the motorsport photography game. I've ordered myself a few new lenses, the largest of which (combined with the digital camera's 1.6x mag ratio) equates to about 960mm!!! Just imagine the mad pix I can now take of your cars (or the perving possibilities).
Best of all, these combined with my new digital body SHOULD (few things pending) qualify me for a CAMS photography license
Bit un-related but... also got a new portrait lens, and one of my mates just bough a studio lighting rig, so if anyone in the Adelaide area wants some pix taken, give me a hoi.

omg.....CAMS photography licence!! Jesus is there anything they wont regulate? They'll probly evict you for using a non-factory lens that isnt period dated to the body of your new camera. Make you get lexan lenses....miniature fire extinguisher.....better check the straps for any fraying, cant go on track with those!

Stay away from those sheep and you'll be fine!
Yeah, cams photography is probably harder to get into than F1 racing! Have to have certain equipment as a minimum entry requierment. This is just to stop every tom, dick and harry trying to get on to the track to take better pix.
Last Mallala track day I went to (to take pix) I had to plead with them to let me out over the crowd barriers. Even then I had to sign an injury waiver, wear a high-vis vest and listen to their huge pile of dribble.
When I went out to AIR for the drags last it was a bit easier. My mate (commodore club pres) organised a huge day at the drags and the club supplied nearly half the cars that were running that day. He went up to the track clerk and said 'this is Ben, he is our photographer, and he will be in between the cars when we warm the tyres up'. Didn't seem to have a problem with that.

Well, it's here, and just to prove that size really does matter...
Nest to keyboard for size comparison. Dwarfs the old film camera hey? New digital is about 25% bigger than that one, but I needed that to take the pic!

Sigma APO are very underrated lenses. I used them on my 35mm Nikon gear and many so called experts turned up their noses at them. They never could pick any difference between the shots taken by Nikor or sigma glass. Good stuff Ben!

Amen to that, most of the camera stores I went to get prices from even said that they would prefer this lens over the genuine canon 100-400 anyday, that really sold it for me, not to mention the fact that I also scored the 2x converter with it. For less than what the lens retails for itself
