As above, I have done a search and it appears that the V8 diffinetly has a speed limit and the TT should have a speed limiter at 178km/hr.

The rev limiter on a TT is that set to 7000rpm how does it operate?

When testing on my private race track my TT seems to not have a speed limit.

I have found the revs go above 7000 whilst hitting the limiter. This is hard to tell though as I'm always looking forwards and not at the tacho.

All Soarers are factory speed limited to approx 180kph/ It can be over-ridden via an ECU add-on eg the Apexi RSM. However the speedo can't physically display higher then 180kph.

The rev limiter for a V8 is set to approx 6400rpm and for a TT somewhere around 7,000rpm.

If you want to test the rev limiter, then just lock the car into 1st gear and floor it, that way you won't be doing extreme speeds when you hit the limiter.

Yep thats what I did to test the rev limiter, it goes above 7k which I thought was not normal. My camry wouldn't go over at all it would just sit right on it with a slight pulsing just below it.

Pull up your passenger carpet and see if you have a Mine's, Toms or Blitz ECU.

I don't know the exact figure for a TT, just over 7,000 though I think. What did yours go up to? I have seen one that was supposedly stock do 8,000 and possibly more, so may have had the limiter over-ridden. Risky Business!

8k risky indeed.

My cousins camry would pull 8000rpm as well there was simply no limiter or at least he never found it his was the same model as mine. Perhaps there was a component failure in the ECU.

Auto tt rev limit is 7250. Manual is 7500, these are the soft rev limts and they can go higher, 8k is not unheard of.

That sounds like mine is about right then for a stock ECU.

Lol, my RSM has my peak revs logged @ 11,000+ RPM... but there seems to be something going on there... something not quite right...

I wonder why your car is not speed limited?

7500 for me :-)
