Was reading a review about Lexus IS300 on the net, came across this article: http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/LexusIS300/LexusIS300.htm In here it says: The SC-300 & SC-400 are the dream cars of many individuals who desire a no-holds-barred luxury sports coupe. (Including Bill Gates who said his SC-400 was his favorite car) Wow! Now I have this warm feeling that I have something in common with Bill Gates himself

Look at the tense of what was said. That is, the key word is "was". He obviously doesn't have it now.

If he loves soarers so much he should set up a charity where all soarer owners get a couple of grand to mod their soarers!!! Someone run this idea past Bill Gates please

I see one of Bills mates gave $50 Billion to the Bill Gates Foundation the other day. Only left $10 Billion for his family to fight over when he kicks the bucket. Poor buggers.

Bill Gates isnt a geek, he is just a good business man. He stole/bought alot of his originall stuff, made money, hired programmers.

Ive read all over the internet he said his SC400 was his favorite car. Still it ALL most likely came from the same source which was probably incorrect... or correct you never know!!

What about the fuel they recommend Fuel Recommended Premium 91 Octane Unleaded.

US 91 "gas" is not the same research octane number as our 91 RON unleaded but the Premium Unleaded part is correct. Looks like the author cut and past from an American web article. The IS300 will run on anything from regular unleaded to Ultimate 98 but will perform better on premium or Ultimate. It's a high compression engine and tuned for Australian premium unleaded fuel. I have driven them with regular unleaded and they are a lot less fun than with a tank full of the good stuff.

The Oz manual for the IS300 recommends 95 Octane minimum. They note that it will run on 92 without damage if you can not find anything better when you need it. As Roger says, they go better on 98, and go they do. The article is worth reading if you have any interest in picking up one of these cars one day. Australia never saw the manual version which later appeared in the USA, and the first aid kit here is larger than the US one described and is mounted in the wheel well. I keep the manuals, which come in a leather wallet, in the side recess. Must try locking myself in the boot one day to see if it has one of those glowing handles...

Good for those mafia moments I guess BTW, I've been also thinking about the V35 4 door 8 speed skyline too *runs and hides* ...can get one freshly imported for about 24K, apparently it still is faster than a stock TT, hmmmm... EDIT: OOps, wrong thread... |
