Actually, the Hindenburg would have still gone up in flames even if it was filled with helium

According to the most recent study it was actually static discharge that started it, combined with a substantial helium leak. Basically the Hindenburg built up a huge static charge on its dope & cloth covering, which would normally earth safely through the landing cables, but due to excessive stresses caused from landing in the shifting winds, one of the interior support cables had broken and punctured one of the gas bags inside the structure, allowing helium to leak. This ignited when the main structure lost its electrical charge through the ground cables - this happened faster than usual as the cables were soaking wet due to the rain, causing a sudden charge differential between the steel superstructure and the dope & cloth covering - thus a spark which ignited the helium, burning the whole thing in less than a minute.

Yes, the dope on the skin was flammable, but not flammable enough to cause such a quick burn - only the helium could do that.

As helium burns with a near invisible flame, the actual flames seen in the footage are the dope covering burning, but its being driven so quickly by the helium.

Helium doesn't burn at all, the Hindenburg was filled with Hydrogen.
And what fun stuff it is ;)

As long as you have your P's before 2008 you won't be facing the same (if not more) harsh restrictions that NSW P-platers have to face.
Just take a look here:
http://www.arrivealive.vic.gov.au/c_youngGLS_1.html

"The new alcohol-interlock rules for drink drivers on Ps or aged under 26 years will start in January 2007.

The new learner permit rules will start from July 2007, as will the new high powered vehicle restrictions for P drivers.

All the new P1/P2 rules and the new driving test will start from July 2008."

Damn.. sux to be them huh?
