Hi Guys,
According to the: Toyota Soarer Specification Summary there are no 3 litre turbo soarers. However I am looking at buying a 1998 model that is susposably a factory standard 3 litre single turbo. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this?
If some has heard of this, i was wondering what type of power would this be putting out? (the standard 206 kw)
Cheers

He may have installed a factory twin turbo engine (2JZ-GTE) rather than bolting a turbo to the normally aspirated 3.0 litre (2JZ-GE). The 2JZ-GTE's come from Supras and Aristos.
The VVTi 1JZ does look more like a 2JZ than a typical 1JZ. As above, the seller could be confused. Easy way should be to read the plastic coil pack cover on top of the engine. I'm fairly sure it should denote engine size and turbo presence.

Well its been a while coming, but I have finally picked up the Soarer. And it is a 2.5 Litre VVTI-Single Turbo.
The seller quote "OK this is funny, I never looked at the car and I was just going of what one of my workers told me but this morning I opened the bonnet to take some pics and I was worng its 2.5 single turbo ! sorry for the mis information"
Drove it from Melbourne to ACT and it was sooo smooth compared to the Silvia on Coil-Overs.
