Why buy a xr6 when for the same price you can snatch up a 1998 ls400 ;)
Exactly - Sure the XR6 is newer and will have lower milages, but every time I see one It looks like a huge lump of plastic, its just like a really big kids toy car especially with those el-cheapo coloured paint jobs. Id have a late 90's LS400 any day! More grunt too!

work / company car... unfortunatly. Boss has to approve it i'v been given a list and that's the best of a bad bunch
Unfortunately what sucks about that list is that all the cars in there suffer bad resale value. If you wanna salary sacrifice a car, the whole idea would be to get your before tax dollars to pay the car off so you can then make a profit when you sell it after the end of the term. Nowadays you are more likely to lose money if you get a Falcon or a Commodore. Most leasing companies won't even bother with cars more than 5 years old either, so you can forget about a 2000 soarer There's some that will let you have a V35 Skyline though, but it depends on whether your employer wants to use that company or not. Personally if I ever was to salary sacrifice a car, I'd get a beemer from the eastern states (they are like 10K more expensive in WA) or whatever brand that holds its value, and change it after a year, hopefully it will be worth in WA as much if not more than what I bought it a year ago for in the eastern states. In the end your tax dollars pay for the car's depreciation, so in the end the car costs you nothing to own apart from fuel and crap and you're very likely to make a profit, depending on certain variables of course. People at my workplace have been doing this for years and works a treat!
Good plan but of course I like the soarer too much to even bother so...
Edit: I'm referring to second hand cars not brand new ones.

Im not buying it... the boss has me out on the road doing more consulting work and i have been told my soarer is not "professional" enough. So i told him if he doesnt like it than he should supply me with an appropriate car, he said ok! Il mention the LS400 but he wanted something still under manufactors warranty.
