Mine gets up to 180 quick enough, and bounces away off the limiter... seems like it would be happy enough to keep going for a bit. |

| Matthew... where do you get you car to go OVER 289 kph? I didn't think either of the islands in New Zealand was that long. |

| South-west of Christchurch there are a few roads where you can travel for over half an hour at about 100km/h without having to turn the wheel. It's all farmland and the roads are flat, dead straight, and dead boring. |

| Ah, I see, I was thinking Kmh not Mph. And yeah, there are plenty of places in NZ to travel at speed, but at 290 in a JZZ31 I think you would die pretty quickly... |

| Mattew it says and means 180 MILES PER HOUR and I don't think you'll get there quick if at all. That's the whole point. You can't modify a Soarer Digital speedo to read the digits above 180 but you can make it read in miles per hour. |

| The speedo corrector can be fitted later, it's only four wires to connect but it must be done inside he dash. If you were in no hurry it would have been simpler for me to just do it rathe than explain how but hat's OK. I did explain somewhere and it's not that hard for you to do later. Just have to pull the rotten thing out again. And if there's one thing I hate it's doing something more than once to get it right, would have been easy to save the hassle but I know you need it quick. |

| oh btw, my SC300 uses the 1JZGTE soarer ECU/tranny/motor. Its a direct plug in with the extension of only 40 wires, and the pinouts are the same. The analogue dash works, but u have to bypass a resistor to make the tach work, and add a 330ohm to make the temp work (on the back of the dash). I first used a Greddy Speed Cut remover device to get rid of the 110mph cut, and a FCD to get rid of boost cut, but then i purchased a SARD Analyze ecu, that has no speed cut or boost cut, along with a 8500rpm redline. Everything else on my cars work flawless with no modifcation.. AC/heat/cruise control/mph/gas gauge, etc....

| And then pull the vacuum displays out and put a bit of tape over the "K" so it says "M/H" |

| Just use the switch that switches from kph to mph to turn the kph light off too. That's what I do. If kph it says so. If mph no light and it's bloody obvious! (Dad, why are we going past all the cars like they aren't moving?) |

i wish 180kph was fast enough. i was driving from brissy to twnsville a couple of years ago and me nd my mate were sitting round 178kph the whole way and it sucked. i wanted atleast 200kph before i thought about slowing down. as it was we left brissy at about 10:30pm - 11pm stopped at a few towns on the way (every 300kms) for fuel. and got into tsville at 8 in the morning. Didnt want to miss brekky at macdonalds. |

| Mark is there a fairly easy way to do that? (change from Km/h to M/h) That would come in handy as I frequently head down to the states. Just operated by a switch. |

| Just as I said 1 Jaycar/Silicon Chip speedo corrector. ($45 or so) 1 4 pole 2 position switch for kph/mph switching. ($10 max) this switches the links in the converter and also the kph light in the dash. Both kph and mph are accurate to +/-1% and +/- 1 digit on the display.. THAT'S IT! Can't get much easier. I think Jaycar have an outlet in Canada too or are at least definitely set up for mail orders to there. 1800 784 0263 is the phone they list for orders from there. The speedo corrector is Catalogue number KC 5380 and is retail AU$44.95 but I think you guys get to remove 10% GST from that. The only hassle is getting the converter in the right place between the sensor buffer/splitter and the speedo input circuits. YOU CANNOT MODIFY THE SENSOR OUTPUT DIRECTLY. I can tell you where for the Luxo Digital dash but not the Pov digital or US analogue dash (Griffo's got it measuring it up for when his gets here) |

| Bottom part of the dash will all be digital compared to the pov-pack (in the auto models anyway) Here's a lux-pack dash.

| But the outside temp function was only a limited thing from 92 on wasn't it? I have the digital bottom row but no temp. So I'm pretty sure that I have the Luxo Dash. Mark, Could you pm me the information on where and how to connect? Between this reply and the speaker one you're fast turning into my hero. |
