Ok people I've come to this painstaking part of my life where I'm buying my second car and I need you're honest unbiased opinions.
In the red corner the Supra. It will be a 93-95 TT model and a manual with under 90 000 (the one im looking at is a 94 and has 45 000km on it).
In the blue corner a VVTI 5 speed turbo soarer. 1996 with just under 90 000km.
Can anyone help me with the pro's and con's of both because I am stuck. I love the Supra because of it's unbelievable power and torque and the beauty of the exterior (aswell as the 6 speed getrag). But on the downside it is very cramped inside and is not really too safe.
I love the soarer because of the dual exhaust and the inside comfort, traction control, LSD but will I be satisfied with the power I can get out of it (without spending a fortune). Also it is not a 6 speed but rather a 5 speed.
These are not all the pro's and con's I have thought of but just a few, can anyone help me out with their opinions.
Thank you and I'm so sorry for the long thread.
Byron
P.s. Has anyone got a Blue or Black Soarer with a 6 speed Supra Getrag trans and a Supra TT motor with low km? That would be ideal.

very interested to know why you say the Supra is not very safe? I've seen guys walk away from accidents in Supras that by all rights, should have killed them. They're built tough as nails, they have ABS, often have airbags and trac control and as long as you're not a complete nuffy, they don't have any particularly bad vices to watch out for.
I've owned Supra and Soarer - and it's entirely down to what you want. Soarer is a *little* more practical, but is not an out and out performance car. You'll spend thousands chasing the type of power a Supra can mate with bolt ons.
As for looks - both have their plusses.
For me - if you want to be more a part of the driving experience, get the Supra. You feel immersed, part of the car. Comparitively, the Soarer can leave you feeling a little more detached.
On a long trip though, the Soarer for sure.
As for a black Soarer with 2jz - speak to Simon T - he was muttering about moving his along recently

My best mate has a supra and i bought my soarer knowing the power he has under the foot. i am happy with my choice in soarer because it is comfortable and not cramped. I do a lot of driving and even the cruise control and climate and everything bout the car is just so comfortable. Plus my car is not exactly a slouch compared either. He wins but not by a great deal.
Then again the supra is the sports car, the ultimate crowd pleaser. Turbo or non turbo, you will get looks everywhere you go. Bolt ons are plenty and cheaper.

I wouldnt say that the supra gets all the looks since my soarer is a head turner where ever i go so dont under estimate the soarer. But like most will say; supra= sports car soarer=luxury cruizer Both are a really nice car.

As others have said, it depends what you want out of it as to which choice you make. They're really very different cars to drive. Supra wins hands down for feedback, soarer for laid back cruising.
Any reason you wouldnt be after the 95+ supra's with the upgraded brakes? Something else you dont have to upgrade down the track.

How about 98-2000 LS400 ;) 0-100 IN 6.3 And perhaps the smoothest ride on the road.
Smooth, yes. pretty quick too. throw her around the corners a little bit quicker and you realise why supra or soarer (non airbag) handle so much better during spirited driving
