So after owning my soarer for a few months now i noticed a very interesting thing with it this morning by chance i guess.. Ok here is the story.. My CD stacker dicided to take in one CD then another one ontop of it yeah good on it so subsiquently i have been and i refer to it as "JJJing it" because as we all know the radio only goes up to 90 so therefore you cant get any of the mainstream stations.. Anyways i went to Jamboree today and had to drive through Brisbane so i thought hey the chances of my finding a better station within my "range" have increased.. so i play with the tuner and low and behold i pick up a hotFM station.. However it is the 91.1 station.. BUT my display says 81.1... sooo therefore leading me to my question? Am i just special OR and i should have mentioned this earlier.. at the risk of sounding dumb lol is there something else going one? Eg. an expander? but how does that explain my display?? oooh tooo many questions for a sunday lol

I was wondering how the whole tuning thing works on these cars as well. I was told that we can still pick up some frequencies as you have noticed yourself.
i.e. if the radio station frequency is 107.1 (SAFM in Adelaide) in these cars it has to be set to 87.1 104.7 (Triple M) is 84.7
if the station is 91.1 then it would be 71.1 on my radio, however, my frequency oinly goes as low as 72. whatever??? not sure.
You can fit the expanders, and the guide to do so is on this site.

You have a 10-MHz expander fitted Susan. You should be able to get most stations. Reception will probably not be up to Toyota standards though At this stage there is no cure for non-EMV cars ...but I am working on it.
I can fix the CD stackers though. ON NO ACCOUNT force the cartridge out if it won't come on its' own...it will cause more (expensive) damage. If the cartridge has not been forced and the laser is original, then repairs to get them working properly are relatively cheap (~$100)
