I guess Simmons are "aussie crap" too. Wonder why they're popular world wide? Must be something to do with their ability to build almost any wheel to your specs.

ROH are absolutely crap wheels.
I have a set of 19" furys and I have cracked all 4 rims at least once and just cracked another one. Very weak design. I have spent over $600 getting them rewelded. Dont go near them

I dont know were i was for this thread but the comment that ROH are " I have drift r on and have had them on for a wile no problems.12months on these rims without a prob I have 18 by 8 front 18 by 9 rear dish (and yes they do need spigot rings but they come with the rims)only cost me small fee due to hoo i know but they retail from $360-380 per rim (18")so paying $500 yeh thats steep but the question is that did you contact ROH for this price or a retailer.Retailers put on large fee's so i dont think Roh is to blame. As for fury's its a different style to drift r and i too have never had cracks if there were more cases of this happening then i would agree. So for future soarer's thinking of purchasing I can't folt them.

Like Peter I too have 17" Fury's and no problems after 3 years of driving and a few events at Phillip Island. Maybe it just the bigger ones have a week spot. Personally I think there is nothing wrong with ROH wheels.

fellas, just ask any HSV owner and they will tell you their rims are absolutely crap. ROH has the contract for HSV, and when I took one of my rims for rewelding due to cracking, there were 8 rims, all of different HSV's needing rewelding due to cracks. The owner told he me loves people like me coming in because they keep him in business, he had done countless amounts of rim repairs for ROH rims. All in all, personally 19" rims are not made for sydney roads, we must have the roads in Australia.

That maybe so but have noticed a trend that the bigger you go the weaker the rim (more strain on the rim due to less rubber on them) so isolating one company i think is unjust in saying so a good size would be no bigger than 18" and cheeper on the pocket just my thoughts.I myself haven't had any prob's with ROH rim's.

I agree with ya there Jeff. Size of the rim definately make a diff in how tuff they are. I got the 18"'s and am pretty happy. No cracks and perfectly strait. Even lost a tire going about 60 over half a brick and the rim is still strait.

Both Michael and Jeff, I have to agree with you both there too, personally i think 17" rims are a perfect size for australian roads, but if you want looks and style obviously most people go a larger size rim. I really shouldn't of dished out at ROH, becuase most likely happens with most manufacturers. the thing that disapoints me the most is that I was e-mailing ROH about this issue and they fully agreed to test the rims for me, (i was getting 2 rims repaired at the time) so when they got repaired and was ready to get them tested, the manager that i was dealing with just stopped sending me responses, afetr many e-mails he must of just refused, so sorry but they are not getting anymore business from me again...

Due to the bad experience i can understand that's the management side of it.I was only referring to the product and many other company rims that have also cracked or bent easily due to size.So if company's look at this and make the rims for australian roads then maybe this problem would cease but that's not how to make money. If the rim's don't break then you don't bye new rim's hence no money for these company's.Also for my experience with ROH (drift r this applies to) I was really impressed when the rim had bent to prevent major damage when I did something stupid and hit a gutter at 80kmph (120kmph when i lost it) weather this was design or just something else it did prevent further damage to steering (front left wheel) the only thing that it did damage was the rack and pinion seals and pride.very lucky!some pic's Gutter damage
