hey guys just a couple questions:

what are the legalities with fitting a gauge in your car? someone said it needs to be equal to or lower than your dash. if this is so, why do i always see them down the dash and up the pillar?

also,
someone posted that automatic boost controllers are illegal to use. is this true or a wives tale?

Depending on what state your in (talking from WA experience) any type of aftermarket boost controller is illegal.
Over here it aint a big deal, get a defect notice, take it out, go over the pits, get on with life $50 poorer...

Gauges must not obstruct your field of vision and must be secured. A-Pillar gauges are illegal here (if not permitted), and will get you a defect notice if you dont have a permit.

Someone told me racing pedals are illegal on street vehicles too - only to be used on rally cars? Is that right?

well you arent allowed to run any oil or vac lines into the cabin for safety reasons.... (im pretty sure)

imagine you had a mechanical oil pressure gauge and the line came out of the gauge and you have nice hot oil everywhere.

i think

Good point Peter.

Gauges have to be in line with or below the dash, anyone you see with gauges up the A Pillar are just asking for a massive defect.

Legalities aside, they are just plain tacky.
