Steve, your concern is touching! (why do I picture you with a smug grin?)
I do have some idea however, as you might have noticed, this isn't a simple out-of-the-box install of Discus.
Many many hours have already gone into all the customisations, comprising of over 600 edits to the skin alone (plus a lot to scripts etc). OK a lot has been trial and error, so the end result would be a lot less than 600 modifications, but it's an indication of the time already spent.
Then to go live in such a rush, approving users, checking all the posts etc, it's been a hectic time these last few days as well.
However I now have a good team of mods, and now that things are settling down a bit, I am hoping to be able to put some time into "things that need doing" eg sponsor adverts, banners, probably some layout changes that have been requested and after that, then hopefully thing will settle down a bit.
Over the years ALSC has developed a strong band of enthusiastic members, I don't expect to have to do much serious moderating from the occasional rogue.
Rob and Reepa are going to continue developing the ALSC site, so I don't have to worry about that side of it, and so far it's been a lot of fun and now very satisfying to see this baby come to life.
Baby is an apt description too, it was almost 9 month to the day from when I first installed Discus to when the site was launched to the public.
