When I replaced my V8 brakes with TT's, I found a bit of extra performance. I don't just mean in the braking department, but in acceleration.
I found that the release springs were not doing their job properly on the right hand side and releasing the pads as they should, thereby allowing one of the disc pads to be in contact with the disc. Not only was it dragging on that side, but in heavy braking the car would have pulled to one side plus the added wear is not something to be embraced.
There are 2 piston like things that fit into the body of the calipers and they have rubber boots on them to stop dirt getting in. Check that these are in good operating condition and that they can move in and out without resistance, otherwise you are losing performance.

In my humble opinion v8 brakes need to have a service around once a year. It may also help to replace the boots that keep water and dirt out.

It would be interested to hear how many other people have issues with sticky brakes.
I had to have my front callipers rebuilt recently because one was slightly locked on and another was sticking on braking.

i had a rear caliper "slider" jam but it was due to a bit of rust and i freed it up and haven't had any problems up to now but if your calipers foul up it is probably time to rebuild them or upgrade

Mine had a seized piston on the L/H front just after I bought it. Back then (2001) there was no talk of fitting TT calipers and virtually no spares available. The Toy Shop wanted $800 for a pair of V8 calipers (wouldn't seperate them). A brake shop finished up rebuilding the caliper for $300. How things have changed

Just replaced all my disk pads on Sunday. Right rear upper slide dust cover was popped off and slider was jammed up with dust. Took it off and cleaned it up good as new. Sliding calipers are pretty stupid though.

Can I Just say .... the toy shop is Sh*t. My uncle used to import 95% of the cars for the toyshop his probably imported 30 - 40 soarers in his time. But the guy who runs it now, Brad, is an arseh*le so I wouldn't trust them, they're a massive rip off as well as Gary has just pointed out.

I had an issue with LF caliper sliding pin being jammed, didn't notice until I went to change the pads. Took a fair bit of work to free it and not surprisingly better pedal feel afterwards.

Also RR caliper piston semi seized, which held only one of the pads slightly onto the disc. It started doing the same thing to new pads as well - meaning it wasn't just piston getting wedged or something, dust seal looked ok so might just be time for a full seal kit.
