just buy chrome ones for that price, in the town i live in a guy can change the colour of you alloy wheels, he has some sort of dipping system, and said he can also dip them to come out polished, for $100 a rim.

polishing is easy to look after. As long as you clearcoat it after, which is what most dom then its just a matter of washing the wheels when you wash the car

Its harder to chrome Alloy wheels as its not a normal steel... its not harder just cost more and a longer process.
Definatly can be done as our customers from work do alot of chrome wheels for trucks that are made of Alloy.
Im not a metallurgist but i dont understand how it can weaken the wheel if you chrome it Ben?
Any chrome plater who does a good job is going to Copper Plate/Nickel Plate (3stages) then Chrome plate your wheel....If that process is followed the wheel will take forever to rust.
IMO id just buy new rims for the cost of actually getting you wheels chrome plated.
