G'day.

I'm at the stage where I can't decide as to what to upgrade in my soarer. I've got a '91 factory manual, at the moment I'm currently in the process of installing a EMS 6860 ECU. It's also got the following:

Turbo-back Blitz exhaust with Lew's dumps
FMIC
K&N Pod
New iridium spark plugs

I don't have a current power reading though the ECU will change that and I'll be able to provide one once it's tuned, but I'll be looking at doing more once KRudd stimulates my package.

I'm not looking at going big single, I want to keep the twins but I'm not prepared to go with T3Gs just yet. Can anybody recommend what to do from here?

It should be able to handle more boost, I would get a Profec B II then (assuming the engine and turbos are in good shape) turn the wick up to 16-18psi.

Boost will be controlled by the ECU using an electronic valve. The ECU will have a vacuum line connected directly to it.

If I were to replace the turbos I may as well go with T3Gs. Any cheaper recommendations?

Whats the prefixes of the turbos?

If there CT12Bs they wont fit, pretty sure the only difference is that the exhaust wheel is steel for the US market, you wont get a power increase, just a slight increase in lag.

If there CT20 or 26s then custom manfidolds, oil lines, etc will be needed.

Someone else chime in that knows more LOL

get a turbo timer if you don't have one already.
also get aftermarket suspension preferably coilovers they are awesome.
and if you got a little extra change left over get some 22''s

That's assuming he wants to fall into the tosser category?

I'd say, once you have it tuned.

Intake and exhaust cam gears
HKS 256 or 264 cams
Electronic boost controller running 18psi
RETUNE!

You will fall in love with the car all over again. :-)

Dont waste your money on a turbo timer brother.... they are simply a wank.

Just baby the car on the last few minutes of the drive and once parked gather your stuff, unbuckle, get out and THEN switch the car off... plenty of time to help those poor delicate babies cool and get lubed a little.

Greddy Profec B spec 2 EBC is best bang for buck on the market . RUn her up to 16-17psi and get it tuned @ that and see how you like it then.

I couldn't care less about what the car looks like at the moment, I mean, look at my front bar:

Upload

EBC will go in once the ECU is done, the ECU will be controlling it.

Adjustable cam gears sound like the way to go next and then maybe the HKS cams :-)

Thanks guys.

cams are a more effective option...
you will get alot more from cams than cam gears. a nice set of 256 or 264 will sound nice and add more power if thats what you are after.. cam gears will only give you a few hp when tuned right. but if you want both do them at same time so you dont have to keep taking the timing belt assy apart all the time haha 2 birds with one stone while you are there check your water pump

Also... Get the Elec boost controller BEFORE the tune, or else you will be wasting money on a retune straight after.

Definitely. It'll go in with the ECU then I'll be tuning it. I've got access to a dyno too so it'll make things a lot cheaper.

Well since everyone is giving thee opinions, here are some of mine from experience.

Go the cam gears, don't waste your money on cams, I had HKS 264 intake and exhaust on stock turbos, honnestly didn't do too much, will be way more effective if you choose a turbo upgrade down the track to then do the cams.
