I noticed a loud ticking coming from the injectors/fuel rail, I've put a screw driver on it and listened and it's definitely it.

I know injectors are meant to tick but not this loud.

I've also compared it to a friends Soarer, and mine is much louder. It's loud enough that you can hear it over the engine.

Does it indicate that something is wrong?

have the injectors been changed over by a previous owner or yourself?

Matchy...dunno what the noise is mate...im sure it is common with all soarers tho...im not sure what exactly causes te ticking noise....when we compared cars though...mine was definitely more quiet than yours...but i could still hear the tick...hope some guru comes to our rescue

After some research...opinions relate to the "solonoids....in the injectors"...quite normal...some tick more than others...i would like it to go away tho...

Also...what happens when you overtighten the fanbelt...is there a squealing noise associated with that...

you cant really over tighten the fanbelt mate as its got a automatic tensioner, its not a manual adjuster

I haven't changed them, but I can't say if the previous owner did or did not, nor do I have any way of contacting them.

could possibly be different injectors. different ohms than what the toyota uses?? research more into the what ohms your injectors should be. then get a multimeter and you can test your injectors ohms with one. ( i think its resistance your measuring so be sure to select the correct setting on the multimeter!)

Fot a TT, they should be yellow top injectors standard. If thats what they are then no probs.. And as mentioned, they can be loud. This doesnt mean anything
