Currently have a slightly smaller and more importantly non cams approved fire extinguisher that uses self tappers to bolt in.
Getting a proper one bolted in appears to be a lot harder as the soarer is double skinned pretty much everywhere, so no access to the other side. Even the seat mounts aren't really accessible as they are flat to accommodate the movement.
Anyone installed one? or even is there a tutorial on how to get the front seats out as that may give some clues?

It's lasted just fine. It only weighs 1kg. And I've had no complaints from passengers.
And yes, bolted to the plastic.
I dont like it being behind the seat. If youre in a hurry I wouldnt want to worry about reaching behind there. Where mine is its practically right next to me. If I need it its easy to grab, no stretching over and feeling around.
But thats just me.

I have the same as Ryan's tucked away in my boot. I dont like them intruding in the cabin.
Unfortunately, it has to be within reach of the driver in the normal seated position to satisfy CAMS and some track day requirements.
It also has to be bolted in in such a manner as to prevent it becoming a missile in an accident. Self tapping screws are not satisfactory. Whilst this is also a CAMS specified requirement, it is also just good sense. 1kg rapidly accelerated to 60kph (as the car rapidly decelerates in an accident) will generate a lot of force. I would not be surprised if there is some writing on it for road registered vehicles as well.
Not having a go at anyone who has posted, just providing the information based on the assumption that Steven wants to satisfy CAMS requirements.

Government lease vehicles mount the compulsory fire extinguisher where Ryan's is. No problem for passengers although looks out of place a bit in a Soarer

YES my car was not a track car, YES i realise its not in an easy to grab spot from the cabin... BUT it doesnt take long to jump out , pop boot and grab it.
Better than having NO extinguisher

I have a 1kg (or so) extinguisher in the boot, but didn't mount it. It's wrapped in old towelling and squeezed into the spot near the jack, so it's relatively secure but not as easy to get as in James' example above, being under the floor mat. I didn't want to use up any more precious boot space in the already tiny boot.
