I put in $20 of Caltex Vortex last night (I've heard it's not too bad) but I guess I'll have to buy a bottle of Octane supplement too. See this, would never happen in the Eastern States.

Actually, I've been to 5 different servo's all around my area (AND the city) and none of them have had Mobil 8000 or BP Ultimate... I've been reduced to Shell Optimax? Don't you westerners have that?

nope only 1 refinery here.. and owned by bp

currently bp wont sell 98 ron to anyone
only 98ron is ultimate
96 for shell premium
i think 95 for caltex?(dont quote me on that)

There is no Optimax here. The only 98RON fuel is BP Ultimate.

apparently caltex's vortex is 98 according to the guy behind the counter. they also have no vortex available at the moment.

Vortex is only 95 RON in WA.
Most BPs now have Ultimate 98 RON back in stock

Where Vortex is 98 it says "Vortex 98" on the pump. If it just says Vortex then it is 95 regardless of what the counter expert claims. Price will also tell.
