Well it has been nearly three weeks since I left my car at the crash repairers. I have driven four different cars during this period and compared to my Soarer they are all crap. First, they gave me a Daihatsu sh*t box to drive and the brakes went.he then gave me his ford ute while he repaired the brakes. then I got the Daihatsu back and the brakes went again. Then he gave me a Golf to drive, which handles and drives well, but has no guts. He needed the Golf back and now I'm driving the ute again and there is just no comparison and even though the ute boasts a 4 litre engine it doesn't hold a candle to our Soarers. He has promised that I will have the car back this week and I can't wait. I miss the 12 stack CD, the leather, the quiet and smooth ride as well as the grunt of the V8 amongst other things.

I know how you feel to man mine sat at the mechanics for 3 n a bit weeks cause of a busted master cylinder which needed re-kitting, another brake booster, and new pads. But it's all good it's back and now with an engine light which has been caused by a wire rubbing on the fan belt, pics are under electrical-> electrical engine light. But that's a 5 min job to fix.
I think you should go and import your car Katrina and send him the jeep hehe

Thanks for your sentiments guys.I bet that brake fix cost you a packet Mark. I failed to mention that I had only had my car back for a week and a half after the last panel repairs. I know what you are all thinking and yes I'm a "good" driver who hasn't had any accidents in 20 years until this year. I've had three within the last 12 months. Only for one of them was I at fault.

Yeah wasn't cheap especially when I only earn a whole 560 a week
Brake pads - $160 Brake booster - $230 Master Cylinder - $250 Labour $40 -->> Hehe Cashie for master and labour
Man Bernie what bad luck man. They say things come in 3's so lets hope this is the last
But I was driving the gf's daihatsu pos to drive but $20 a week in fuel can't argue with that hey compared to $60+ for the soarer. And i'm only driving 20mins to and from work so it's not that bad.

Yeh I agree with the fuel bit, the Daihatsu that I drove was a lot cheaper to run, but I would rather use a bit more juice and at least be comfy. The Ford ute however, drinks like a fish, it uses more than my soarer and its a heap of sh*t to boot.

I used to drive a AU 2 Falcon Ute for work, was nothing compared to my soarer, but it was a whole lot of fun! very tail happy as most utes, and comfortable (bumpy tho)... good on the highway too, and yes drank like a fish but hey work was paying, so drink up baby!
i suppose we are comparing apples and oranges here.. utes and small cars... none of those would stack up against any luxury coupe that retailed for more than twice or three times thier price tag.
Bernie, sorry to hear bout your bad luck, hope you get it back this week!

was it a one tonner, Lincoln?...my recently sold AU3 XR6 ute was sensational on fuel...Mildura to Adelaide return on a tank(65 litres)...and thats a round trip of 800+k's...the style-side ute apparently has a much different diff ratio to the tonner...

If I could afford to import my soarer I would have. .but there is no way it would have passed US emissions in California where it would have been ported. But I did have the option when I moved to Japan to take my jeep with me.. should have taken it there and left it so I wouldnt have to try to get rid of it now
