Just wondering...deciding whether to go for el cheapo gauges or fork out a bit more for a name brand so to speak.

Are gauges gauges or can cheap gauges be unreliable? In some cases cheap things are just as good as the expensive ones so I was wondering what your thoughts are.

Good brands = ?
Bad brands = ?

I have $30 guages in my car. Seem to be working fine to me :-)

For the price of Defi guages etc. you can buy a bloody single turbo! (not the whole lot but at least the turbo)

Boost and water temp or oil pressure most likely.

I'm liking the smoked out look, is that what you got or the triple combination DIN ones?

I've got the Defi Display unit - small and unobtrusive and lets you know if something goes wrong... but not quite the bling factor of 3 gauges lined up :-)

Yeah, I don't need boost :-) But with all Defi gear it depends on what sensors you buy. The sensors plug into the control unit which feeds the signal to the gauges or display. I've got oil temperature and pressure and water temp but you can also get fuel pressure, boost pressure, exhaust temp and you always get the tach signal.
