Hi Guys/Gals. Have just got my soarer (V8 - 1991 GT LTD) and want to find someone / mechanic who knows Soarers over this side of Town (I live in Taylors Lakes - near Keilor/Tullamarine in Victoria).

Speak to Simon at Autopro in Deer Park (9361 1999). He is good with the electrical side (inclusing stereo and alarms for them), as well as general servicing (oil, brakes etc). He currently doesn't have the facilities for your bigger jobs like timing belts (his new workshop should be open around March, and at this time he should be able to do just about anything).
As for major servicing in the mean time, you could try Gary at ATS in Tullamarine (9335 1254), but they do get VERY busy and may need the car for a while. Or try Jimmy at Leisure Vehicles in Williamstown.. he knows Soarer's back to front, but not sure if they are still workin on them..

Michael, I was in the same boat as you and realised how easy and cheap it is to change my own oil / spark plugs and air filter.
Each minor service will cost you $80-$100 and will take you 2-3 hours to do. Rather than paying that $100, then 10% mark up then labour on top of that.
There is plenty of information on this site on how to do the work, and if you aren't sure, we'll be happy to help you out.

I pay a bit more for that, from a guy in Brunswick but he just did my exhaust, George!! He is bloody great but a lil $$$ and take a lil time! He's overseas at moment tho. I still wanna take mah car up to Neil sometime this year with a wad of cash and get mmm lots done!

Hi, i have a similar problem :
im living in South Morang at the moment, and my car overheated the other day (either thermostat or water pump, or something else, cant tell!) i had to get it towed home and cant drive it till its fixed. Im new to the area, need to get it towed to a reliable place that can fix it, I've been trying to call Jap Cars all week, anyone know if they've closed till next monday or what?
Are there any other mechs within decent towing distance to south morang??
