Hey guys.

I did a search but didnt find anything. I was wondering if anybody has stroked any Soarers (v8's or turbos)???

Are there any kits available???

How mad will it be if the 2.5 litre twin turbo suddenly becomes a 3+ litre. That will make big rwkw.

So has anybody heard of this being done before

Cheers

There are kits available to take the V8 to 5 litres. If you have to ask for a price before purchasing, you can't afford it!!
There is also a stroker kit available for the 1JZ.....it's called a 2JZ-GTE bottom end. Quite common really.

C's in Japan make a 5 litre kit. Last price was $15 500 plus import duties.

Go for it.

About the same as a 2JZ stroker kit. HKS/JUN charge around the $12,000 mark on a good day, plus shipping, plus taxes, plus plus plus.

So i guess they are just slightly more expensive than chev v8 strokers lol.

But how hard would a 5 litre v8 soarer go.

Would it eat a gen 3 5.7L holden????
Would it beat the twin turbo???

You would be better off either replacing the engine completely or supercharging it.

The 1UZ wasnt built with 100% performance in mind. As stated a few times in other threads, the engines were designed as lightweight luxury engines rather than powerhouses. If you dont take the right precautions then they go ping!

Lightweight luxury engines with 6 bolt mains...the choice for many supercharged speedboat applications.

What is a "performance" engine? a 5L Chev? 1/2JZ? 5L cleveland?

Unless you take the "right precautions"(eg, fuelling/timing/boost), then any engine will go pop. I have not heard of any 1UZ's go bang, letalone any that have been pushed to the limits, fail.

why would you stroke a 1J when you could just use a 2J bottom end?

speaking of which, do 1J's have bottom end oil squirters?

Lol, true.
The only difference is stroke in that regard.
71.5mm vs 86mm

Ben do you mean piston oil squirters?
I think they do

Titan Motorsports in the US of A Make a 3.4 Litre Stroker engine out of a 2JZ engine! Prices start at around $13,500 US for a Short Block.... A SHORT BLOCK.....Or wait.. A STroker KIT(crank, rods, pistons, rodbolts) For ONLY US$8,995 on sale. Wow, Can buy a Nice SCHMICK soarer for that much.

The Heads to match start from $3,500 and upwards. US$$ again. SO there are stroker motors out there, But can you afford it? Hehe, And i dont think it would be TOO streetable with what ancillaries they are expecting you to run with it also!

One of those full race prepped engines is in a Celica (well it has the front and rear of a Celica) and is doing low 7s passes :-) Apparently has traction issues.

Those motors are worth it for sure!

Yeah, If you can afford it, then why not :-) But complete motors that have been tried and tested start from US$50,000 . Cant wait to hear and see that Weapon in action at WSID.
