There are kits available to take the V8 to 5 litres. If you have to ask for a price before purchasing, you can't afford it!! There is also a stroker kit available for the 1JZ.....it's called a 2JZ-GTE bottom end. Quite common really.

You would be better off either replacing the engine completely or supercharging it.
The 1UZ wasnt built with 100% performance in mind. As stated a few times in other threads, the engines were designed as lightweight luxury engines rather than powerhouses. If you dont take the right precautions then they go ping!

Lightweight luxury engines with 6 bolt mains...the choice for many supercharged speedboat applications.
What is a "performance" engine? a 5L Chev? 1/2JZ? 5L cleveland?
Unless you take the "right precautions"(eg, fuelling/timing/boost), then any engine will go pop. I have not heard of any 1UZ's go bang, letalone any that have been pushed to the limits, fail.

One of those full race prepped engines is in a Celica (well it has the front and rear of a Celica) and is doing low 7s passes Apparently has traction issues.
