In the questions section below he says : "Sorry no interior or engine pics". Does he mean that he won't put them on because they are shockingly bad, or because he can't? P.S. G'day Bruiser, glad to see you're digging in to the community and making yourself at home.

Thanks Darryn, armed with that little nugget I just made him a cash offer of $1k as a donor car, lets see what the response is. If he takes it or comes back with a counter offer, is anybody interested in going in on the car? We could agree on shares/parts split beforehand.

Last I saw he was chasing $4k in October (Had new front brake pads then too), but wasn't all that approachable in getting details about it either so I'm guessing he won't be all that negotiable about it.

He has responded with a counter offer of $2,500 so he's not in our ballpark! I have heard of medium ks' V8 engines going for $500 with a startup guarantee, and I don't think the ECU's are worth a grand, surely? Anyways, I'm not prepared to bid over $1k on spec (certainly not until he is prepared to put up some better quality images) so one of you guys can follow through if you like. Finally, and this is just on a personal level, I get pissed off with people WHO SHOUT ALL THE TIME. </rant> Cheers, Bruce His reply: "THE LAST GUY WHO OFFERED ME $1600 BECAUSE I WANTED A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE AND I NEEDED THAT AMOUNT, WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY I THOUGHT THAT WAS A JOKE. THE MOTOR, ECU, ECT IS WORTH 1500. EXACTLY WHY I TOOK IT OFF TRADE ME .ANYWAY TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT. SORRY MAN,$2500 AND THEN WE ARE TALKING. 4:03 pm, Sun 11 Feb Seller Comment: PS. NAVYPILOT. I DO KNOW OF ONE OF THESE FOR PARTS. "

Heh, Hanré and I have had that very discussion with him on Toyspeed......He didn't appreciate the suggestion that he might have more success if he turned his capslock off.

Ha! yeah, commenting about his choice of ascii certainly seems to earn you the rough end of the pineapple! Hes always been quite civil to me whenever I've contacted him though. At the end of the day, its up to you guys to make an offer and up to him to reject it and go from there, but if hes going to post pictures of his Soarer when it looks like its been dragged out of a paddock, then hes unlikely to get the sort of offers hes looking for! Id hate to think it was only worth a $k but unfortunantly some of the scruffy Soarers are starting to come out of the woodwork which drives the prices down somewhat......

Well, the unloved ones will start to die off soon, and then hopefully it'll start to gain classic status.

Hopefully not, I still have more to buy and I sure as hell don't want to be paying classic prices

This guy is not playing ball. I asked another question and offered him $1500, both ignored, yet he has this morning put up two new pics, neither are helpful. One is so dark you can't make out diddly-squat, the other is a rear half-shot, and still no pics of engine bay or interior. I think he's a waste of time!

I agree Bruce, very strange seller, its been there for ages and he never seems to sell it - Must be a time waster! The lack of pictures is also really strange... To bad cant do parts as I need a spruce interior colour left hand part of the window sill. Its like a rectangular slot that covers some screws in around where the door closes above the window air vent joiner - It just I cant find one of mine after doing the door trim clean and regulator fix!

| In all fairness, I'd say he's put up with his fair share of time wasters too.... And one of these Mike??

Nah its dark, as most FSG soarers interiors are. The flash on the cam at night did that.

Yeah, I think for that price I'd get the auto trimmer next door to make something up. Its not like its something you ever really look at, so anything that was vaguely the right colour and texture would do.
