any interest? im after a v8 soarer now, or possibly swaps if you have a nice v8 (ls400 celsior or soarer) and want a change.

Good luck with the sale.

Go for the LS400 over a Soarer, may as well get a more practical car that is more reliable, and handles almost the same.

I've had both, without a doubt Id take a Celsior over a Soarer, especially a VVTi 1998-2000 Celsior/LS400

What a car!!

Yes, but the Soarer still looks a lot better.

I've lost my appreciation for the looks now days.

Used to love them, but I can't help but find them too curved & rounded for my taste at present.

Ultimately I think it's just the numb isolated handling that has put me off them.

Ah, the LS400 doesn't do any better in that area unfortunately, particularly if its on bags.

For the driving I do the Soarer's steering and handling is very good, particularly after replacing all the shocks and fitting the Toyo tires.

Having owned cars with "razor sharp" steering response, I know how tiring it can be on long trips, which is pretty much all I ever do in the Soarer these days.

The soarer worked on long trips, I give it that but in the city like Auckland I slowly found they aren't really that well suited.

At least with the LS400, it's supposed to be a luxo barge like a boring Mercedes so it's justified it doesn't handle well.... the soarer is a bit pretentious if its considered a 'sports coupe' it's just a soft Grand tourer at best.

Thinking back to my 1990 Celsior on air suspension, it was almost comical how they handled... but did they have a smooth ride or what!

I'd be sure to buy a Celsior again, just a pity most of the old ones have 200-300k's now.

Yeah, the heavy doors alone make them more awkward than most cars in "trip to the shop" type driving.

I'd certainly consider a LS400/Celsior as a family car if it wasn't for the fuel bill...
