Kevin, If your Soarer compliance is Pre RAWS (about 2003), your Hi Beam will be 9005 and your Low Beam will be 9005J (at least that what mine is). What this means is that the pre RAWS cars take a 20mm bulb in both lights, post RAWS cars take 20mm in Hi Beam and 22mm in the Low Beam (Neil might know why). I believe the 9006 are 22mm.
I found this out when I changed my Koito bulbs for Narva Halogen bulbs. The difference between 9005 and 9005J is that the plug is slightly different. I had to remove a part of one of the lugs to make the 9005 fit in the Low Beam.
One way you will notice the difference is the plugs for the Hi and Low beam are a different colour, black for the Hi and brown for the Low from memory.

Yes, If your car was complied last year, then I would say you definitely have 9005 in Hi and 9006 in Low. If you compare both the Low beam should be fatter (2mm fatter).

Just a follow up on this - I had to get a new bulb yesterday. The only one I could find to fit was a Philips H3 bulb, 65 watt (I can confirm that the Philips 9006 55 watt does have a 22mm base). This had a 20mm base and the lugs fitted fine - however I had to modify the plug to fit - this involved cutting out the two locating splines that run down inside the plug with a sharp knife (My car will only work with a singe spline or no spline at all)

Yes, HB3, thats the one. Pain in the arse having to cut the splines out. Still it works well, the extra 10 watts gives a useful amount of extra light, and its a normal colour not ricer/fake HID blue.
Speaking of H3, I noticed I need a new one of those too, as my left hand one has gone again (never buying another Navara bulb, that one only lasted a year!)
