Hey guys, I am a newbie here and have just put down some cash on my soarer, waiting for the seller to get a new RWC (his previous one expired 8 days ago).
Anyway, walking away I noticed that the drivers-side mirror had damage on the lower part of the casing around the mirror has been cracked and part of it (about 3-4cm) is missing.
My question is - anyone in VIC know who can repair it/ or get a full one etc?? It's only small, but I'm a perfectionist. I don't have any pics yet, I'll have the car by mid-week.

Weclome, Averil
The mirror comes in two halves which are unscrewed after popping the glass out. One of those halves is gone and you'll need another, preferably in the right colour.
We have two Pearl Soarers and I swapped mirror halves around as the newer one had been damaged and only the front half was replaced, while a small crack remained in the other half. The swap was also advantageous because the colour match was better (yet they had the same part number moulded inside, but presumably different manufacturing dates).
It's not especially difficult as long as you get all the screws (there are 5-6, from memory).

look up toyota in the phone book. I dont know many in SE suburbs, but 'Hondwreck' on Westall rd has had soarers there before, I havent been there since last year though. Actually from memory it was a black one too so they may still have the mirror surround

Not even a scenic choo-choo, Don I was thinking about my long career all over Australia which included spells in places with very long trains (as in ore, but no bore).

I'd imagine combining shiftwork with full-time study at Uni or whatever wouldn't be easy, Averil, you have my sympathy. Especially having done a degree (externally) while working full-time, which is a little easier.
Just love today's eye candy (though she could lose the hat)
