Ok. Took some pix with my phone just to show those interested.
high resolution images also available throughout the conversion which show most of the loom bits which had to be modified (only about 3 single wire plugs) took 30sec each. If anyone wants those let me know and ill get them off my mates camera and e-mail them to you when i have time. The aircon and the alternator also had to be swapped over. A new accelerator bracket had to be made. (pretty easy too). Everything else was pretty much straight forward including the cooler piping.
Performance: well it feels like it goes just as hard as my 1j with 16psi and an e-manage (227rwkw). Only difference is that the car is now running on stock 1jz computer with no e-manage and on 10psi with stock supra dumps. Off boost response is unbelievable. The turbos no longer need to go into positive pressure when going up hill and yet the car is pulling just as hard. Flat sticking it off the line with out holding the brake has also changed. The 1jz used to struggle till it reached 2500-3000rpm then all hell broke loose. With the 2j the car moves a lot easier. The power delivery seems pretty much constant altho the turbos kick in a bit later then on the 1j. This is not noticeable due to the 3L bottom end. Top end, it doesnt loose any grunt it keeps pulling even after 130. The sound is a bit deeper and it flutters similar to a slightly modified nissan. Thats cos i dont have a BOV yet and the stock one was blocked off.

Whats next you ask? Engineers certificate, then crank it up where ever possible to get as much as possible out of it.

I'm running an auto with a 2800 stally and a shift kit which is gonna start to worry me once the boost goes up.
Na no plans for a single yet. Was gonna get some CT20s but found out they were the jap spec so no point.
Probably just put the e-manage back in, 16-18psi, cam gears, maybe some cams too, bigger injectors and dumps. That should get me close to the 270 mark i hope.

haha where did you hear this????
The $3000 Getrag 6-speed gearboxes can handle 600hp maybe, last I checked the auto boxes from the Supra aren't too different to the Soarer, in which case they will struggle to hold 400hp.

They will run that power and it all depends on how hard you drive everyday, the box wont last a life time running that power and same with the r154 people say they will blow with 600hp but there is alot of guys that havnt blowen one yet, if you drive like my asain mate you will probaly blow a gearbox a week and i say you do with them comments

So you're running a stock (bar shift kit) 2jz-gte auto gearbox behind a 2jz with a GT35R and it hasn't given you any grief yet?
Thats actually quite amazing, I know MV autos only rate the A340E + 1.5 shift kit to about 260rwkw. On a 2J, thats about what you can pull with stock turbos...

Nah not yet, still in the middle of the wiring, engine is in and turbo mounted but tail shaft need doing and also in the middle of sparying my soarer so so many projects at once need a hand anyone offering
Talking to about 4 big companys up in sydney that are doing alot of 2jzgte work they tell me the boxes are taking that type of HP about 320rwkw the manuals make about 340 to 350rwkw with the same setup so you lose alittle with the autos but yeah to play it safe ill be getting a MV kit to give the box alittle more life and use there control kit for the solinoids as im running a EMS 8860. But they tell me the boxes when the do let go it, all it does is slip so the clutches go.
But not to bad if they do blow just buy a $300 dollar job pull the MV kit out reinstall it to the new box and of you go.......
If i had the cash for a new box 6 speed i would of gone the Gt40 turbo 800hp sweet as but 650hp - 700hp on the street is pretty undrivable any way

Unfortunately drive-line loss doesn't scale as a percentage in real life, it pretty much scales linearly (almost) with engine RPM, road RPM and torque being transferred.
"Oil drag, and grease in CV joints and wheel bearings and prop shafts, as well as internal windage losses and external windage losses on prop shafts etc, all increase as road speed rises."
"Losses in gearboxes are similar to those in an axle or a differential. Most of the losses are simply, bearing, and oil drag. These are engine RPM dependant, not power or torque dependant. Some of the losses ARE dependent on the power and increase as the power transmitted goes up. Marginally. So again a simple percentage cannot be used."
About 55kw for a soarer auto with locked tq converter, say 60kw for yours because of the extra torque being developed.

more hp more rear loss so yeah very hard to say, but from figures around the place for a 2jzgte running an auto box that has about 650hp at the flywheel should work out to be around 320 - 340rwkw....

This was discussed in another thread a year or two ago, where I argued that at constant RPM (and tyres etc), drive train losses would be the same regardless of engine power. I estimated 65kw as the loss on a V8 and use that to estimate flywheel power on my car, purely for the entertainment value . As RPM for maximum power increases, losses will also increase but the constant factor remains. As Cihan says, it can never be a simple percentage.
Edit: I suggest the 65kw loss is overstated. It is the difference between the advertised flywheel power and that typically measured at the wheels on a stock V8, which of course ignores effects from car age and other variables,
