| Well I saw one of these on the Freeway this morning... in this exact colour. All I can say is these pics don't do the beast any justice. It gave me the same sensation I felt when I first saw a phat dumped V8 Soarer that sold me down the path of Soarers...unfortunately in this case there is only a small matter of $286,000 for this Maserati Quattroporte, 4.2 Executive GT... Somehow I think I'll be sticking to Soarers....At least my other x-dream car the BMW 850i V12 used to be the same price ($250k) and is now around $38k for a 91/92! Maybe in another 15 years I can buy this Maserati for the same price!!

| One of my bosses has a Quattroporte - can't say it does that much for me but it sure sounds great. His brother has an Audi RS6 which is a more potent weapon but not quite the same in the aural stakes. |

| Ben, the RS6 is a 4.2L V8 Twin Turbo pushing about 450HP, not a V6. So the figure of 330KW looks about right to me. |

Basically selects park or move, the rest is done via the paddles that are just visible behind the wheel. As for the lifespan; fiat or alfa, yeah 5 years tops. Maserati and Ferrari are a fair bit better than that. And yes, the 'mas is basically a 4 door 'fez that has been ever so slightly de-tuned and has a box that slips just a little (like ours) so you can drive it every day through city traffic and not lose your mind as you would if you were in the Ferrari. Trust me, driving a Ferrari through the city sucks, no synchros, no power steer, no climate, metal suspension bushes... but there is nothing quite like the sound (or the kick in the pants) that a V12 @ 8500rpm can provide |

Gotta agree with that. It is almost ghostly when a Ferrari hovers by. A few months ago I was down at George St at a club and I hear the loudest revving. It sounded like a friggen Moto GP. It was a Ferrari. A supra thought it would drag it off the lights. Lights go green, snap the Ferrari guns it. Travelled a good 100m before the supra had even crossed to the other side of the lights. There was a bit of smoke but a lot of fun. That is one of the best nights I have ever had. The pick up wasn’t bad but the drag race was something special. Stupid supra driver. Did he actually think he had a chance? I remember it was the day brockie died because there was this mint white VK Brock doing laps with a black thing on his antenna. |

Depends on the Ferrari, and the Supra. Most '80's and prior model factory Ferrari's wouldnt even keep up with a factory 2JZ-GTE Supra, while many 90's models would struggle. Of course plenty would also be much faster, until you start playing with the engine in the Supra at least... |

I'd imagine a Maserati would hold up its value a lot better than a BMW... it's kind of higher in the collectible class... you still see 80s Ferraris for example costing close to $100K |
