| Our 1993 Soarer is jinxed. Mid last year a Commodore attacked us => $6,300 damage (first picture). The car was fixed and a few days ago a Falcon attacked us, the quote for this repair is $8600(second picture). Both times the other drivers were at fault and their cars were written off! Considering that, the Soarer did ok both times. I am sure there is an under ground movement happening in Perth to wipe out Soarers !

| Hoooooooly shyt!!! I would say the Soarer did more than OK if the other two cars got written off!!! As for that underground movement, I think that's to get rid of all Ford's and Commodores hahahah |

| I have to admit the other cars that were written off had a few years on them, but the Soarer isn't exactly a puppy either. |

Callum, are you sure it doesn't have something to do with your driving style ??? |

| Blaine, bad karma, but look on the bright side, if this keeps up in a couple of years you will have rebuilt the whole thing.... trouble is, there will be a fair weight of bog in there, but aesthetically, you'll be back to where you were before you visited Boganville...sorry to hear of the bingle(s) |

| I worked for a panel shop for the past 3 years, and one day a supra rolled in. During the repairs, the panelbeater commented quite often what a bastard of a car the big toyotas are because the metal they are made from is so thick and strong. I am not at all surprised that your small damage on the soarer lead to the demise of the lesser quality car. Lean on a door of a hyundai, holden, nissan, ford, most other cars, and the panel pops in and back out. Lean on a soarer panel and try to bend it. It takes so much force. My wife hit a concrete pylon head on in our first soarer. Wrote it off, but the damage looked similar to the first pic above. These are very solid cars. As a towie, I saw commodores ripped in half, hyundai's turn inside out, etc.. from minor impacts. Your $10k-$20k soarer was worth approx $100k when new, thats what your driving. 3x the quality of a commodore. Be happy and know that if you ding your soarer, your chances of survival are umpteen times better than they are in MOST other cars. |

Too right. Every accident a Soarer has been in that included pics that i have seen, the windshield has not even cracked! And some of the pictures indicate a very big accident. Woot Toyota for building one helluva safe car =D |

| Not always Braden. I have heard stories of Soarers going toe-to-toe with larger 4wd's and coming out the victor. And i dont mean other Toyota 4wd's =P |

| One time on the way to work early on a saturday morning I rear ended a Hyundai S-coupe (93 model I think). I was extremely tired and still half asleep crawling along behind her. The light was red but I hadn't seen it and all of a sudden *BANG* Luckilly I didn't hit her too hard otherwise it would of been pricey. The second I hit her the light went green and I was sitting there cursing in frustration at myself. The guy next to my left had got out of his car to act witness but the silly bitch in front of me just drove off exposing her semi crushed rear bumper. I pulled over and so did the guy and I was completely dumbfounded as to what had just happened. I inspected my front bar to find nothing but a tiny scuff to the left of the emblem and spent the next 2 minutes scratching my head in confusion as to why she just drove off. Was a weird moment in my motoring history The following weekend I was fined for speeding on the exact same road. |

| Thats weird Ben. I witnesed the same thing happen in traffic on the way to work a couple years ago. It was bumper to bumper traffic i was in the far left lane on a 3 lane road and on the far right lane traffic was stoped and next thing i know this guy hit the brakes and wacked into the rear of another car. The guy who got hit didnt even realise he had been hit, and the guy who did hit the car didnt even get out his car. The next thing i know there was flow of traffic and away they went. I thought to myself how the heck did he not know he had just been hit? I didnt see any major damage but even so. Maybe the lady you hit had music up loud? or day dreaming? Thats the only thing i can think off. |

| Thats funny ben. You'll never know, but she either didn't realise she'd been hit or she knew she'd been hit and had a boot full of drugs, was blind drunk or had no licence. You'd be surprised... I was waiting in McDriveThru one day in a navara ute (tray back with towball..) and someone bumped into the back of me, My towball ripped a hole in the bumper and peeled the bonnet up a little bit. The driver got out and told me to exchange details with him and I calmly asked him if my towball was damaged, which absolutely infuriated him, and I drove off. Hehehhe. |

| Actually quite common for someone to drive off, regardless of fault, and pretty understandable considering the number of road rage incidents these days. Maybe she felt intimidated? |

I have a similar story.. Driving along at ~8pm at night behind a Dominos pizza delivery car. Get to a T-junction and i was about 100m away rolling up, he was stopped. Roads were quiet so he started to drive off, im getting closer all the time, then he stops and i didnt allow enough time to break.. small tap to the rear and we met on the side of the road a few meters up.. the guy reeked of marah-joo-wanah. Anyway.. exchanged details.. he called the store manager out cos he was so baked.. khem i mean freaked out. Store manager went off his face at the Dominos guy because i had done less damage to the car than the previous driver did when they opened the door on a light pole. All the while im sobbing over my hugely cracked to sh!thouse front bar (made out of tough as all f$ck marine fiber). Never heard anything about a claim so i was bloody happy. My fault though; ill accept that =P |

| I nudged a 4x4 on the way to work in the celica one morning. Guy didn't even notice. Was half asleep, and was rolling to a stop and forgot to push the brake pedal to bring it to a complete stop. Bent my number plate |

| I had a Camira skid into the back of me on a wet night. In the rear vision mirror I could see steam and heard glass hit the road. Got out of the car to inspect the carnage and saw the Camira first. Bumper half off, radiator fcuked and headlights smashed. looked at my car and all I could find were two scuff marks which actually did buff right out. I went to the Panel shop the next day and got the bumper taken off because I was sure there must be some damage but nothing, not even broken clips. The Camira was towed away. I cannot think of any current production car that is as strong as a Soarer. They are one of the safer places to be in a prang, except for the lack of modern side and head instant bouncy castle systems. |
