G'day guys, my name is Cameron and have recently joined the post, i have been reading for quite some time now though never felt the need to join until now... I'm looking to buy my first soarer and have one that I'm quite keen on. its a 92 model v8 limited with 113000km's and almost perfect condition. its fully stock standard and is is from an elderly woman who's husband owned the car and has since passed away. logbooks show that it is serviced every 2-4 thousand km's and is $12000. i would like to know if this is a bargain, good deal or if I'm being ripped off. thanks so much guys and i will get back to you... cheers, Cameron

Cameron, it sounds pretty good to me, but only a mechanic would know for sure. Expect the normal things - if they haven't already been done, such as bushes, blinky dash etc.

Cameron,
Something else I thought about this morning at 2:45am (I know, weird huh!!) is that you should put the car into the 2 main diagnostic mods, and see if it has any stored errors.
Run through the diagnostics, and if it comes up something like SUS NG, leave it on the error message for approx 90 seconds, and it will give you the code (use this to bargain the price down).
I did this with mine, got SUS NG 21 and 22, ECT 61, TRC 43ABS 56, EFI 25 and ECT 62.
Out of these error messages, only SUS 21 and 22, and ECT 61 actually have relevance, as the rest are just error codes that where either failed codes, or came up due to another reason, but my ECT does have an error, and the suspension also did previously (I didn't reset the suspension code).
This is also a good way to tell if the car has been maintained adequitely or not.
