| Beautiful Sunday morning so I though i would take my car out of d garage for a nice drive to my G/fs. Car has been sitting in the garage for the last 4-5 days after being polished, and I didn’t take it out because its been raining and all. Anyways around 3:30pm big storm hit without any warning and now my car is totally screwed! Cracked windscreen, golf ball size damage all over the bonnet, roof, boot, and right hand side of the car. So if anyone has a spare front windscreen please let me know ASAP. By the way I am in Sydney at Quakers Hill. |

| Don't mean to hijack your thread, BUT...do you think maybe global warming has us done for??? OK,OK...I know I am going out on a string now, BUT, do yall see this wild climate changes we have been having lately??? Or has it been just been a popular excuse for us to have to deal with and NOT say anything about it?? It's only going to get worse! By no means am I a tree hugger but man, when are we going to learn....when it is too late?? OK, I know it takes us, the U.S., to start the trend, but it is us AND China, who are the most polluters on the globe, to take a stand!! I am just stupified by everybody who blames everything on the "100 Year" climate circle!! 100 years ago NOBODY had this problem!! My thoughts...sorry! Cheers |

| David, yeah mate... Ford = WIndscreen shattered.. Both headlights, Indicators, Bonet, Roof, Pillars, Door, Rear quarter, front guards.....Its valued @ $4200 so im guessing they will pay on that! Will find out in a couple of weeks. But its Dents are Massive! Hail bigger than golfballs, more like tennis balls... Soarer... Has 2 on bonnet, a couple on roof, 2 on boot and 1 left rear quarter that i can find so far.... Im pretty sure a Dent removal guy can pull most of them. Will get it sorted after the new year. I still had hail stones in my lawn 4 hours after thats how big they were! ANd AKA... You poor dude! If ya need a hand with anything, let me know!!! |

| The place that did my 180sx 9 months ago was a place in Artarmon, did a great job, had lifetime warranty, and the screen was about $250 all up fitted (was quoted $1800 from Obriens because they claimed it had to be original, and there was no aftermarket screen for my car, thus having to order from Japan. I will try and get their name tomorrow on the way back from work. B. |

| I was at a friends house in Doonside, they had hail the size of tennis balls. They made divets in the lawn and some of the hail stones were below the level of the grass that is how deep they went. i was lucky my car was not in the area and covered. Sorry to hear of your misfortunes Aka and Daniel. |

| Yeah my car got hammered, I had just finished washing waxing, cleaning the rims and stuff when the storm front came over, by the time i packed up my gear the storm had hit. I didn't think it would hail though considering how HUMID it was... I dunno how bad it got hit though, the hail wasn't golf ball size here on the coast, Lakehaven, most was about the size of marbles, but it was pretty ferocious. Tomorrow once the car's dry I'll see how bad it got hit. The storm looked fantastic from my back deck though, I could see the storm front come and then hit the High and start swirling around, it kinda looked like a twister was going to form |

100 years ago no one had Soarers to worry about getting dented Severe hailstorms have little to do with "global warming" and occur when cold air meets with warm, moist unstable air. This happens a lot around Sydney and other areas of NSW. North America has some of the worst storms in the world, because cold polar air comes in direct contact with tropical air from the Gulf of Mexico (and this includes tornadoes). Global warming may have and probably has had an impact on the severity of tropical revolving storms (typhoons/hurricanes/cyclones) because these form over warm water, and if the oceans are warmer there is more energy in the storms. This bears no relationship to the formation of thunderstorms over land except that they may be more severe in the event moist tropical air meets polar air (which doesn't really happen in Australia because polar has first crossed the Southern Ocean). So, severe hailstorms have been around for ages (I remember some beauties in western Sydney, and had a car near written-off in Armidale) and will be with us forever. |

Trust the guy with a million muscle cars to downplay the whole "global warming" debate! ;) I'm with you to an extent, i dont think its as dramatic and world ending as some people are hyping. Certainly there do seem to be some odd changes happening though. But then when you think about the idea of the Butterfly Effect on weather then i could take a fart over in Perth and cause a hailstorm in Sydney =P |

Don't get me wrong, I do think we need to clean up our acts.. coal is filthy and the biggest problem. We need to drop the 70s mindset and go nuclear. With our uranium resources and vacant land for enrichment and waste storage, we could be the next "oil state". And reduce CO2 (and more importantly) sulfur and mercury emissions by a large margin. Oil will run out, or at least enough to become real expensive.. we need to find ways of powering our daily drivers and road transport without oil. But climate change? I just don't buy it. The terrorism fear campaign is running out, so OH NO WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF.... UH.... CLIMATE CHANGE! What a crock. Another BS political distraction and excuse for the government to funnel money to big business. The sky is always falling in if you listen to politicians. If it's not global warming it's global cooling or global terrorism or communism or whatever. |

C'mon...really! With all the idustrialization of the modern world releasing all those green house florocarbons in the air, none of it being monitored in the 3rd world countries, ALL of it being monitored by the EPA, I'd start to be a little suspicious! Where are the polar caps going? |

| Records aren't kept worth a squat 100 years back because they didn't have accurate instruments or know what to measure like we do today. Anyway, 100 years is nothing in earth time. To think that our little bit of action has such an impact is stupid and arrogant. The earth is enormous and we are a tiny speck on it. Fluorocarbons are not greenhouse gases. They are the ones that "destroyed the ozone layer". And your argument that "but something is happening.. and we're doing something.. so.. AAAHHH!" does not prove anything. That crap? Do you know how plentiful uranium is in the earth's crust anyway? If you scrape the average Aussie house block to a depth of a couple of feet, you will have over a kilo of uranium in there. Uranium is an alpha emitter. It does not glow green. Alpha particles are stopped by the top layer of dead skin on your body. Dirty bombs are a myth. And you're so worried about the "greenhouse effect" which is "caused by co2"? Well, the scientists who Greenpeace always refer to as their proof of that stuff all agree that nuclear is the answer. The amount of useless land available in central Australia to store nuclear waste is astounding. The stuff is almost harmless when handled with even the slightest care - way less harmful than the mercury that pours out of coal plants unchecked. And they are getting a lot better at recycling and reusing nuclear waste too. Wake up, do some reading, and stop listening to the crap that flows from Fox News. |

| If you can afford to buy a car worth more than $10,000 then you can afford full insurance Specially when like this can happen Trust me... 6 yrs ago, i bought a VL turbo, had the money in the bank to insure it( just hadnt got to it yet). Had it 6 hrs and it was stolen! I lost 12K and had to postpone our wedding, refinance to buy another car. So a 12k loan turned into a 20k loan for a car worth 7k.... |

Well currently because we don't have a dump, the Darwin hospital has to store almost 20 cubic metres of used nuclear medicine waste ON SITE in the middle of a city. |
