Hi guys + girls

I am thinking of purchasing 1.5 shift kit plus cat back dual exhaust.

Now here is the tricky part before i hand over my hard earns. i would like some help:

1.the note of a dual exhaust (3" from from cat then splits to 2.5" to cannon)
2.how a 1.5 shift kit shifts on regular driving conditions.

I live in south side bris and wondering if someone can take me for a quick spin?

Your exhaust will be loud and droney.

To kill a bit of drone, use some good mufflers (not cannons) and two resonators/mufflers before the final mufflers.

If its still too loud, you can simply fit a mid-muffler after the cat.

Have a search theres heaps of threads with feedback on those mods.

The shift kit will be a little harsher on normal driving, but I would recommend setting the ECT to normal rather than power, and this will combat a little of the harshness.

On WOT the shift kit will be quick and crisp and feel fantastic.

Are you also looking at getting an oil cooler for the tranny, as the shift kit is going to heat that oil up much more, so for harsher driving, it's going to need an oil cooler fitted.

Sorry but that is incorrect.

Normal or Power will not make any difference to the quality of the shift. Line pressure adjustment does though.

A shift kit will not increase tranny fluid temps if anything it will lower them slightly.

With a shift kit the clutches mesh faster and there is less slip/heat generated.

David, you can make it as harsh or soft as you want. Either way the car will still give a slight shove when changing gears....

I have a stage 1 shift kit, it's just a metter of adjusting the line pressure as Damian stated.

I usually have the line pressure backed off for street driving, but once I go to the track, adjust it so it shifts much harder.

For your requirements, go a stage 1 shift kit, don't go the 1.5.

As Steven said, don't get a 1.5 shift kit if you're not taking it on the track. You will love the stage 1 with the line pressure backed off a bit.

The only times you will feel a kind of "jerk" is during soft acceleration and in close traffic (crawling), so PLANT IT and then back off. No problems what so ever.

I found a 1.5 was ok on the street too. It was a lot smoother than I thought it would be and it was smoother than the stage 1 shift kit I had ridden in a couple of times.

This could come down to line pressure adjustment but I think the 1.5 from MV is not only faster but a better design from what I have read.
