In SA you can pretty much get away with anything. Insurance is the big thing... I reckon SA cops wouldn't care if you had a B-52 propulsion jet tied to your roof with an ocky-strap.

When I lived there I never had any issues with my bike - a hotted up GSX 750 with the loudest Yoshimura system on the planet.
Got pulled over for a friendly chat by a member of the state constabulary one night for getting frisky with a TT Supra driver on Cross Rd, and all he wanted to know was how much power we were making, and how much we'd spent on our respective vehicles. Even had a nice look under the bonnet of the Supra, and commented positively on the bloke's fantastic setup and gargantuan turbos.
Then came the question - he turned to the Supra driver and asked, "are you gonna get a bike now mate?"
But, to be fair, it was only one cop and he doesn't speak for the entire force and the state's laws...

no way are cops relaxed down here. I'm guessing its the same as every other state. Chances are if you mod your car then its illegal. Don't drive like a knob and don't make your mods obvious and you shouldn't have to much trouble. Its not a skyline so you wont get harassed to bad.
