could someone please tell me how to unlock my steering so that i can turn the key and shift my silver gtl. tar.The immobiliser is working ok.

Even when locked, the wheel should be able to turn 5 degrees or so, so turn the wheel bout 3 degrees, then stick the key in and turn it.
Also try taking the key out, turning it over, and try again.
