Is it just me, or do other people here get the odd insect in their trick display? I'm on my 3rd in 7 months and it's been there for about 4 days now. The others were in and out in about 2 days but this one's got determination.

Hehe...never had that. Although ants seem to love my paint job. I'm forever flicking them off the roof and bonnet.

I'm with you Sam, I swear bugs and the like think my car is some kind of really short, really wide tree! Everytime I wash it its like they're drawn to my bonnet! So annoying!

Sam, what's a "trick tray"?

My Subaru somehow got an earwig caught under the bottom edge of the instrument display, about 5 years ago, and last time I looked (it's local, still) it's still there.

Ha ha, we get cobwebs all over the grille, mirrors, everywhere there's a gap, here. You should see some cars which are infrequently washed...

Dan, exactly right young man.
I'm starting to think that 'blinky dash' is really just a whole heap of insects inside the display all jumping around. It looks like it's blinking, but in actual fact, it's fine.

Woah, so what your saying is there could be some sort of mutant Jap insect egg in there just waiting to hatch and destroy the city?

No insects in my current car, but my last car had a huntsman nest in it. Not cool. For a couple of months I had little baby spiders everywhere.

That's what a clublock is for, knock the huntsman down on the mats & squash him.

I had the unpleasant experience of being a passenger in my father's when a huntsman dropped down from the sun visor onto the steering wheel and proceeded to run around the wheel when he was steering...

He had to turn a corner and the huntsman just kept on running like a mouse in a wheel

Ended up pulling over and jumping out of the car like 2 girls..

I think even my dad squealed.

Heh... thats terrible!

There were several occasions where I'd spot one on the windscreen, mostly at night time for some reason. You'd then test to see if it was on the inside or outside with the windscreen wiper test.

I'm not really a fan of squashing them though. The ones I did find were caught and released, far away from the car.

Lol, exactly the same thing happened to me, but only once, I also did the wiper test after winding up the windows and closing the sunroof. I figured it would suck to do the wiper test and have it on the outside and get moved by the wiper, only to have him fly in to the car through the sunroof!!

After that I felt like I had spiders all over me on the trip home, I hate spiders...
