Hey all, picking up the new beast on Monday :-)

But first, the aircon display screen has basically fubar'd, the lcd has 'run' so to speak on most of it, clouding it up and making it impossible to read out what is set. Any ideas on if this is fixable, and if not, how mcuh it would set me back? thanks guys.

Nope, it's forever gone.....best bet is to hunt around for a second hand one, I picked mine up for $44, but that was a bargin.

Expect to pay in the region of $150-250, or Jeff can get you a new one

Has anyone ever tried to source an equivalent display be it LCD or LED. If you find a replacement,I would be interested in the unit for research, experimentation purposes.

Tom, you should read the archives and use search more. LCD replacements are simply NOT available.

The choice is second hand or new from Jeff. :-)
