Hey guys and gals,

I have a set of cam gears to put on my car along with some cam gears.

Now i was wanting to know rough prices people on here have paid to have them installed.

I have asked a few mechanics and they say different things.

Only one place has given me a firm quote for them.

Cheers

Basically its a bit more labour than doing a Timing belt replacement. You should replace the Water pump and Timing belt Tensioner whilst your at it. Also New front and rear cam seals.

If you got a quote for $600-$900 in Labour alone, that would sound about right.

I'd do them for $300 without replacing anything (if you so chose). But I don't charge mechanics prices as I don't have a shop :-)

You could do it in 4-5 hours. If you do the timing belt etc etc. Then it will add up.

Sorry just add your hourly rate for said mechanic to my rough guestimate of 4-5 hours.

You will need front cam seals and new cam cover seals from toymota. Dont' reuse the cam cover ones they leak like a sieve even with gasket stuff.

Yeah that sounds about right then.

The best quote i got was $450 plus shims and seals.
