you know that they say by the time the oil light has come on.... it's too late anyway...
and it usually is on 90% of cars...
and yeah if you have the luxo model, you get that cool ding as you drive along when something isnt right.... i was driving along and DING, i thought wtf now? just a friendly reminder i was running on fumes, thanks i could see that the fuel gauge showed empty the light was on too, but it still decided to tell me

the ding can get annoying though, every time i would start my car and drive away DING, rear tail light out HAHA, was to lazy to change it as u have to remove the rear lights, but finally gave in HAHA

No, there isn't...if you have a "scroll" function on the dash, then this includes oil level check and oil pressure check....if you don't then you need to have the dash diagnostics translations handy; on the upside, if you haven't seen the warning shown above, then you are cooking on gas, and there's no immediate concern

I have to agree, by the time the light is on it's too late.
Checked the oil in my brothers cressida grand yesterday, and discovered there was barely any oil in the sump. It was a tad past the low marker. I'd been driving the car prior to this and no light had come on warning me of low oil. Silly boy needs to check his oil more frequently. After that discovery I topped it up.

Just below the low marker won't hurt in ordinary driving. Off the bottom of the dipstick is when you have a worry. The Soarer will tell you before you get a loss of oil pressure. Of course its best to check it every couple of weeks at least to avoid it all together!
