as most of you know! i got yellow stickered!

just to let you guys know with my crappy problems i passed :-) had my yellow sticker removed

but at a cost.....

he told me before he removed the yellow sticker he handed me a razor blade and told me, start peeling alllll that tinting off, so sitting at the pits 2 hours later, of 2 windows 2 quarter windows and the whole back window i managed to get it off,

but it looks crap now! i cant seem to get it all off theres still some tint and glue all over it!

any ideas on how to get it off? :-)

thanks!

and yay i have a legal car :-)

Just hope you haven't damaged the aerial and heater wires on the rear window. :-(

You can get generic repair kits for the window heater wires. No idea if they work although in principle I can not see why not.

Switch on rear heater and see if the lines get warm. It should be noticeable fairly quickly.

Some lines are for the aerial and won't get warm, you can see they are different by looking closely at the pattern.

they are supposed to get warm....

People use them in colder climates when frost or DEW is on the rear window, you press the button on your climate control and it will turn em on so you can actually see out your window.

From what i understand you shouldnt have had to remove most of the tint ?

WHy did you have to remove the Tint from the rear quarter windows and rear window ???

As long as your car has 2 side mirrors ( 1 on each side ) only the front drivers and passenger side windows have to be of legal tint !

You should have been able to leave those and just get the fronts redone in something lighter dude .

Maximum tint on any glass is 35%, so if it was darker then it has to be removed.

Just use window cleaner to get the gum off.
And once soaked up, a razor blade works well.
Just a time consuming job.
