Hopefully I'm not asking a question that has already been dealt with as I am a recent Baptiste of the Soarer flock and so much to search through on such a thorough forum,. I am about to purchase a 97 single turbo(factory)- Auto, (no-mods) K's are relatively low and price seems about right comparatively, it is currently being complied, (by seller). Is there any mechanical or legal issues I should be aware of or looking for?. Thanks. I can't wait to get behind the wheel as an owner, have been searching for the 'one' and think I have found it.

Compliance checks: here's a few - change air cond gas to conform to Aust regulation - mirrors changed - child restraint anchorage points installed & checked - fuel tank filler modified - No HID's - wheel size matches compliance sticker inside drivers door - Not lowered, must be standard - exhaust not modified, must be standard
To coin a phrase "Search is your friend". Type 'compliance' into the search facility on this site. Hope this helps

Here's the compliance doc from my Celsior. The Soarer is very similar. This is the exact doc you need to take to the motor registry (in NSW anyway)when registering the car. Im sure there are a few differences for QLD, but this should be a pretty good guide for you.

How old is that compliance document Mark? As far as I know, the fuel tank filler no longer needs to be modified as leaded petrol is no longer available.

08/2005. Yes, you could be right there Peter...things may have changed a 'lil. They did the mod for the fuel talk filler for this cert, however 37/00 states only unleaded fuel. I actually thought this mod was for more than just the unleaded issue...related to the safety of the fuel talk sealing to Aust standards? All in all though, this doc should be a pretty good guide.
