And I couldn't believe how much smog and was in it!!! all that carbon smog and soot, i've never seen a car which had it so bad! i'm guessing its from all the bad pollution in Japan
First I washed and cleaned the filters with some detergent, turned the whole sink black! then I moved onto sugar soap in a bucket and turned that black too!
Anyways got as much as I could out of it, my fan/air-con works heaps better now and smells good as I sprayed the filter with air-freshener, definitely worth taking the time to do!

yeah sure is i had to replace mine as one was missing and the other one was so far gone i was amazed it was supposed to be white it was pitch black lol

I think that some of the black comes from the carbon brushes in the fan motor. I had to pull out the fan motor because it was a little noisy, so I blew out the motor with compressed air and there was black carbon dust everywhere.
