hello, i joined this site a couple of months back because i wanted to buy a soarer, and i still dont have one (i know it sucks) but im still looking what i would like to know is whats the normal amount of k's for a 1991/92 soarer twin
turbo??

im looking at one now, its a 1992 twin tubro in gunmetal grey had some small mods done to it but nothing massive, (bov, turbo timer, air filter, exhaust) it has 170,00km's on it.

is that about the norm? and does this car sound pretty good? im going to wait and see what your smart soarer owners say befor i call the guy.
Thanks for your help

also with that many miles on it what kind of things go wrong on a well a maintained soarer?

gun metal grey! HOT
170 is about what most soarers of that age are showing, but they could all be wrong! mines a 92 V8 with 160.

anything could go wrong at that stage... its a 13 year old car!
although the rear seats are ususally still in good condition.
expect to fix things though.. cant be anymore detailed than that however

Rob Hayden had a very nice, and younger, TT for sale as well. Do not know if it still is.

Good idea David, but I'm tipping that Sean (Being 21yo) wont have $25,000 to spend on a Soarer when he's been looking at 1991-92 models.

I still can't belive Rob's hasn't sold yet :-( It's a perfect example.

Wonderful point, Morgan . I did not check his age.

I think I have a soft spot for Rob's car and would love to see it in good hands, preferably somewhere around here but, alas, I will not be building a stable of the things, at least not before the divorce which has failed to eventuate for nigh on thirty years so may not be a hot prospect now.

yeah i dont have 25k for a car, im looking at around 15 max.
the car in question is 12500, the gunmetal grey looks very nice and the car has nice wheels on it, i know alot about soarers (thanks to you guys) but i dont know what its like living with one, i dont want to buy it and then spend all my time fixing it, how many km's have you guys heard of soarers having befor they get really expensive to fix and maintain?

Mileage tends not to be the issue, based on what I have read, and a lot of people here do not believe what their odometer says anyway. Age and condition are probably more important. Compare what the previous owner has fixed compared with the list of common or potential problems for a TT. Go with what Avin said; if you have $2.5K set aside after purchase you should be in reasonable shape.
