Hi guys, I have seen TT soarers on carsales and trading post in the price bracket of $7k-$9k, e.g below , I was wondering if there would be anything seriously wrong with these cars, like rooted turbo's? Are there any questions I should be asking in particular?

Hmm.. Reminds me of mine. Appearance says there isn't anything wrong with it.. but its once of those things I would encourage to drive it first hand and see whats up.

better off taking someone with you dilan that knows things about them ,what breaks and cracks ect, that one looks clean though pitty it is green ,a nice set of wheels will do it justice, remember you get what you pay for these days

That soarer you posted has a few kilometers on it.. may be why its at that price. However I have seen some at the same price with a lot less on the clock.

Anecdotally, when I see someone doing something stupid (tailgating, cutting in when there's not enough space etc) .... yup it's usually a P plater with the obligatory baseball cap. P Platers think they are invincible because they have yet to have the sh*t scared out of them enough and drive as such, trashing their cars in the process. They also generally don't have huge disposable income, and the income and may skip services or cut corners...

Dilan, why not go have a look at it. It looks fairly tidy in the photos. Can you get RACV mechanical check overs in Vic if looking at a car? If so, see if the bloke minds if you get it looked at. If he has nothing to hide, he shouldnt mind. You have to start some where if looking at one.

James then you should learn to listen a bit more carefully (to people like Jeff). Them's the undisputed facts, young drivers crash more than the average driver - been there, got the scars to prove it!

clearly this is gettin blown outta proportion already, I realise that statistics are hard to argue with but im simply not a fan of sweeping generalisations coz they label everybody into one category which is crap.
Just because a P-plater owns a nice car it does not mean they are some crazy wannabe drifter, street racer , cap wearing (what ever that means) idiot.
Just the same as , just because i own a nice looking car and am pretty young that i must be selling drugs or that daddy must have bought it for me..... I busted my balls for my all my cars and i never appreciated getting placed into the "young hoon" or "spoilt rich boy" category.
AHHH... this is not what i wanted to write on this thread, but thats what i was thinkin all along.
Dilan - Check out the car, check out the owner and try to gauge if he/she fits into some kinda stereotype and do what IAN said and get the car checked out if you are really keen.
