Hi all
I've just returned from Thailand and spent nearly 2 weeks without my Soarer! Instead of going through all 4035 posts on 524 pages in 31 topics, I was hoping some of you guys wouldn't mind filling me in on what, or anything that I've missed. Cheers guys!

Is the Australian currency a good dollar value over there? I've heard that it's reasonable when buying things over there..

Justin, the Australian currency is not used in Thailand. Most people prefer American dollars but will of course be happy with the local money. The exchange rate for the Australian dollar has not been this good for some time so if you are considering going now would be a good time. When I went in early 2001 our dollar was around .49c US. and it still cost me next to nothing to have a great time.

I was in Pkuket. I got around 28-30 Baht to the dollar so it's great value. I was eating 4-5 coarse meals for dinner, 4 or 5 Heinekeins all for about $10! I never had a bad meal. I brought back a few DVD's and XBOX games all for about $3.50 each. I absolutely love the Thai food but I had to try McD's atleast once while I was over there and not to my surprise It's pretty much the same. (Much to Pens disgust!)
