Just got the car dyno'd. Only pulled 194RWKW due to not going over 14psi, but check out the peak Torque!!!

According to google calculator:

622 foot pounds = 843.318764 newton meters

Thats diff smashing potential!

Note: this is NOT in shoot-out mode which almost all cars are dyno'd in these days, and according to the owner its a very accurate reading dyno. Its brand new and cost him over $110,000!!!

If i was to use another dyno, the results would change dramatically (apparently).

194..... with ALL those mods you have.

I would think you would be gettin alot better than that ??? but im no expert, but 550cc injectors, big turbo etc etc.

That torque figure is pretty nice hey, TORQUE WINS RACES PEOPLE !!

Yeah even on 14psi you should have bucket loads more! o.O

Perhaps you need a tune? *shrugs*

I run on 16psi i think it is with steel wheel stock turbos and other generic mods and pulled ~210rwkw last year in Oct.

Perhaps shootout mode makes THAT MUCH of a difference?

I know different dyno's will have different readings, but surely i would expect closer to 260rwkw for your car o.O

Dont wanna rain on your parade, but that torque figure, like any other torque figure produced on a dynometer is tractive effort.

Its not representative of flywheel torque in Nm which is increased several fold by your transmission and differential ratio.

Air temperature, absolute pressure and vapour pressure are used as correction factors on dynos - your particular dyno sheet shows an SAE correction factor of 1.56 which is very high and means the dyno thinks you made 126rwkw but due to the weather conditions you should be making 194rwkw.

Either that dyno's not setup properly, or you were on a mountain and it was a bloody hot and humid up there.

According to this document, the dyno you were on is meant to be relatively fudge proof and accurate.

Er, yes. It is written by the manufacturer of the dyno, so, paraphrasing the immortal words of Mandy Rice-Davies... WTF did you expect them to say?

I am not denying that the dyno is accurate, by the way. The majority of dyno manufacturers are normally selling to reasonable people who would place a high value on accuracy and repeatability in the interests of building and maintaining their customer base.

It says that there are minimal possible operator influences.. In relation to the power being %156 inflated on bens graph id say what i said was perfectly understandable. Its supposed to be fudge proof according to the manufacturer; which means a sensor screwed or the dyno hasnt been calibrated or setup properly.

I went and watched Simon Triantafillou at the auto salon the other day (before his wastegate? clamp let go) and he did 255kw on .8 PSI.

it has two devices that measure the power output, and they cost 8 grand each to get replaced, and as i said its a fairly new dyno.

Not sure on what happened, but he did say that if you took my car to another dyno running shiootout mode i would easily crack over the 200RWKW mark...

Cihan, are you saying i have more power than its letting on?

I think if this car was tuned right, and the "Master Power" turbo was swaped for somthing decent (garrett gt35r, 3040, trust t78 etc), this car should have easily another 100rwkw.

I have not heard a good thing about the t-70 ebay style turbos. Hardcore performance touched a few a while back and they dont like running high boost without going bang.

Thats my opinion anyway }

now this is where you retract your previous statement. this is NOT! a ebay turbo. this is a 100% legit Master Power turbo bought from Brazil and is made from extremely high quality. Dont try and defect a turbo you have no idea about.

Sorry dude.. Ive just noticed alot of imitation ones about. I personally would like the setup you have. Who have you had tune your car? That setup should be putting out alot more power than that. You should Pay a visit to PITS on the goldcoast. Matt Spry is one of the best about, and i believe he is good with EMS. I have no doubt he will be able to get this figure upto around the 300 mark.

PS. Saw your car at willowbank and it looks sweet

Thats fine Christian, and yes i know about the imitation ebay ones... I figure if master power turbos are soo good that china copies them ,then i have a good turbo :-)

it has been tuned by the previous owner's mechanic and ran 200RWKW with 16psi but it had a sh!tty log style exhaust manifold (see attached) It is now a custom manifold, but the EMS hasnt been tuned for it yet. Apparently it ran 250RWKW with the same tune with the new manifold. I honestly think that this dyno is just harsh... even the owner said it is.

I have heard about Spry, though the car is sold pending payment, so there no point for me to spend 500 on a tune :-)

Thanks for your comments :-)

Just need to up the boost to 19psi and get it tuned... the new owner will i spose!!!

Ben

Steven: that is an awesome power curve. Do you have aftermarket cams? If so, what type?

Ben: You and wilbo both trapped the same ¼’s. His car weighs about 1300kg and I would think yours would be closer to 1650kg or so. Wilbo pulled 184rwkw at 11psi at mercury that day and he was running 14psi at the drags. It is pretty easy to see that the dyno you were on does read lower than others. And the same was said of the mercury dyno that wilbo ran on so what do you make of that? :P

As I said, trap speeds is where its at

although my trap speed was extremely low for some reason :-(

mine would weigh easily over 1700kg... there a huge sub box in the boot not to mention the airbag equipment, at least 100KG of extra weight...

soo how much do stock TT's weigh?
