Anyone had any experiences with A/C Pressure plate rubbing after a serpentine belt change? I swapped the serpentine belts over tonight and afterward the pressure plate seems to be slowly rotating and rubbing even though the A/C isn't on. She's making a right old noise and a slight burning smell.

From what I read you can shim the AC pressure plate out to 0.05-0.15mm. Does anyone know what I use, is it a small steel washer or something else? Has any one had this happen before?

Just spoke to an A/C place. Can't get in until Monday but he did mention that it much be a bearing... Now as far as I can tell there isn't any bearing attached to the front pulley.

The only thing I can see is the Stator... Is this thing like bearing? Can it seize?

You need to STOP running the compressor !!
It's most probably the nose cone bearing in the front of the compressor , that's what it runs on , what can happen is that the bearing gets sloppy and allows the things to touch or the bearing could already have turned in the housing making a huge mess !!
If the bearing turns in the front housing then it's goodbye compressor and maybe even a total strip of the system to flush the evaporator .
Get the compressor out and get it looked at .

Compressor is only 1 year old. I replaced it with a brand new one from toyota.
