This one's probably been done before but if so, I can't find it. I come across other Soarers (in car parks etc) very often and often wonder if the drivers know of this club. Is there a small card or something I could place on their windscreen wipers to tell 'em about this club? Also, I see there are stickers available for the club, where can I see what they look like?

Look in the Bodywork & Exterior section of SC, there are some threads where people were buying stickers from

Ok, what I was sort of suggesting was if Soarer Central sanctioned a small card that each member could click on and print out themselves, then the next time that member was passing a parked soarer (or one been driven at speed if they're quick enough?) they could put the card under the wipers. The card would have the Soarer Central logo and website details and be an invitation for the Soarer owner to go online and have a decco. The card would need to look professional but not flash. The important thing is that apart from the small cost of printing it out (maybe about 8 cards on a piece of A4 paper or lightweight card (about 50cents each at the local stationers)there would be no other costs. I'm pretty sure we'd attract a lot more interest and maybe new members. There would also be the added advantage that Soarer woners in our own areas could get together occasionally.

I printed up a few of these. Unfortunately I don't get out much anymore and don't often see other soarers. |

THAT'S the sort of thing I meant. I'm crap at computers but if anyone can slightly alter this card ,maybe having just the Soarer club details, we can all stick a few in our wallets in case we DO see a few Soarers parked.

Word works! There was that nice young lady (she must have been nice as she was letting her other half drive the Soarer) the other day at the servo, and now she's posting for bits and help. But I can see the need for a 'general' card, as I spot lots of cars in the carparks and such, and to place a card under the wiper would help if no one is around.

I can't see anyone (ok, anyone apart from you, Tim) getting nasty about someone briefly lifting a windscreen wiper and tucking a card underneath. To me, going up to a Soarer driver at a servo is fine if you are a confident talkative sort of person but if you're a bit shy then these cards would be the next best thing. I know for sure that I wish I'd heard about Soarer Central a long time ago. You see, it's easy to assume that people have heard about the club but there are surely a lot of people who own Soarers who don't know the club exists? But personally I'll wait to see if others disagree with me. The last thing I need is to get a smack in the fissog for interferring with a chaps (or chapesses) wipers!

I have to agree with Tref. I love cars but hate computers. I would never have found this site unless a mate asked if I was on the forum and basically set it up for me. If someone had placed a card with the web address under my wiper five years ago it would have saved me heaps of dosh and angst. Personally those precious types who get upset if people look harshly at your car (or slip a flyer under a wiper) need to get some perspective.

Would we even want touchy people like that in our club?? Call it a test if you will, if they get upset, never mind. |

I still prefer to go talking to people but I think it would be good if you could hand them a card. You won't be wanting to bother people if they're in a hurry so it is sometimes a lot easier that way. Personally I don't like things on my windscreen. It's a bit like tele-marketing or junk mail. Just annoying. Edit: I think that web site (lexusaustralia.org) is the correct one to put on the card.

Yep, I'm the same as you Benny. I absolutely hate it when people put things on my windscreen. I tend to chuck them back at the person who handed it out. If it had a Soarer on the other hand, I'd certainly look twice before throwing it back at the person who handed it out.

Haha, this reminds me of when my dad was in Poland few months ago for a visit, they put little flyers with fully naked chicks on them behind the wiper to advertise strip clubs!! He's brought a few back... it's like junk mail we got here, same crap there!

Can always shove it in the door rubbers, that way they can't miss it when getting into the car (which is what always pisses me off about wiper flyers, getting into the car and THEN noticing them.)

Ahh I'm not that bad. I have just seen people at the autosalon car park and such with their trendy chain hangin out the arse of their jeans clanking on cars as they stick crap under peoples wiper. Don't want that to be my car it happens to is all.
