Hi everyone, i bought a soarer TT recently and now i have no power at all. It fells as a 2.0l car with no turbo in terms of acceralation and if i put my foot down to the metal it just builds up reves without as much power than a 2.0 car. I have flushed the transmission fluid, changed oil and filters including the fuel filter but no real difference, please help if you know anything at all that can help me as i am now so depressed.
Thank you

Most likely you got an air leak between your turbos and your intake plenum. My car once had the same symptoms. Bascially, the rubber pipe that attaches to the intake plenum had somehow got loose and come off slightly. When you boost your car, the air escapes through the gaps, and never makes it into the engine which is what makes it so down on power. Check evey single pipe carefully and you should be able to fix it.
Dalglish, maybe your fuel pump is dying. Can you rev your engine all the way to redline? Does engine start ok? Search the forums for fuel pump ECU bypass (I'm too lazy) you will have to put a jumper in between two connections in the diagnostics port. It will make the fuel pump run at full speed constantly. If this doesn't help, then check your intercooler hoses again. My gap was only about a centimetre long, yet big enough to make it slower than a barina. Especially that you have a restriction in your exhaust (ie. turbos) that need to be driven yet no boost coming back to help the engine out...

Thank Daniel, i have tried to bypass the fuel pump with no joy, could you tell me where the intercoller hoses are as i think i am looking on the wrong pipe.
The intercooler hoses run in the front of the car, behind the front bumper. You may have to get under your car to get to some of them. They start from where the airbox is, there's a pipe that sort of goes through a hole in the side of the engine bay, then down to the intercooler on the left hand side (facing the car), then from the intercooler it runs sort of low behind the front bumper (the pipe looks flat rather than circular in that section) then it changes back to circular type, and goes up to the rubber hose, that then goes to the plenum. Have a look at every single joint along that piping, tighten things up just to be sure, make sure they sit well etc. Good luck!

Cheak you pipes my ones had a massive hole and it was basically doing the same thing, I was only boosting 2psi and only making 99rwkw but after i fixed it there was a dramatic differnce and the sound of the engine is differnt aswell. Good luck!

Thanks a lot guys for your messages,
I worked round the intercooler hoses first and tightened all of the clamps at first (broke a lot of them and had to get new ones) but no real difference. I went on to remove the clamps and hoses to clean the contacts before i put the hoses on and i now have a little more power but i dont think the turbos are working as i cant hear them even if i get my head out the car, the car is now quick but not as quick as it is supposed to. I think i would still have a leak somewhere but cant find it. Does anyone know how to locate a leak on the hoses coz i keep on breaking the clamps and replacing them as i seem to be over-tightening them. Please HELP!!!

I take it you have the stock SMIC? If so carefully check the plastic piping that comes up from near the bottom passenger side of the radiator. There are a couple of joins down there that can be pulled apart but are held in place by the brackets. Thats where mine leaked from. The thing is I felt mine "let go" and there was a fair bit of turbo/wind type noise when it did. The loss of power was pretty dramatic. It really felt flat.

Hi everyone,
Does any one know if the poppet valve/boost pressure control swing valve is always ment to be on open? The valve is situated on top of the engine where the pipes from the intercooler attaches to the intake or in front of the accelerator cable flap which lets the air in as mine is always on open.
Thanks guys,

Thanks for your help everyone. I did a test on it and it said EFI NG, so i think it might be my injectors coz that might explain the weird light ticking noise around the injectors when the engine is at idle.
I am going to order new injectors and see if that works and cures it. If anyone knows anywhere i can get them cheaper i would be greatful if you could leave me a link or the web page, thanks.
Thanks again for your help and GOD BLESS YOU ALL

There were no numbers that came after, but the o/d was flashing. Before i pressed the scroll to check, there was a japanees message and when i press scroll it said ECT OK, when i press again EFI NG, and then goes back to ECT OK.
